Two Year Old's

Our two-year-old program is thoughtfully designed to provide a safe, loving, and nurturing environment where young children can explore, discover, and grow at their own pace. During this exciting stage of development, toddlers are naturally curious about the world around them. Through our integrated approach to early childhood education, we provide meaningful, hands-on learning experience that support each child's social-emotional, physical, cognitive, language, and spiritual development.

Because toddlers learn best through active exploration, children are encouraged to investigate, experiment, and engage in purposeful play throughout the day. Our classrooms offer a variety of intentional learning centers, including dramatic play, block building, sensory exploration, art experiences with paint and clay, manipulative, science discover, music and movement, outdoor play, and a rich literature environment filled with stories, songs, and conversations. These experiences encourage creativity, build confidence, strengthen early problem-solving skills, and foster a lifelong love of learning.

Equally important, our caring teachers help children develop the social and emotional skills needed for success. Through daily routines, guided interactions and positive encouragement, children learn to build friendships, communicate their needs, develop independence, practice self-regulation, and become active members of their classroom community.

Potty Training Partners

We understand that every child develops at their own pace. Children entering our two-year-old program are not required to be potty trained. When your child shows signs of readiness, our teachers will partner with your family to provide constant encouragement, support, and communication through the potty training process. Together, we will help your child build the confidence and independence needed for a successful transition into the next classroom.

Three Year Old's

At the three-year-old level, your preschooler is becoming more independent, curious, and self confident as they prepare to take on the world around them. At Sunrise Preschool, we nurture that growing confidence by providing meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that encourage children to think creatively, solve problems, make healthy choices, and develop a lifelong love of learning.

As your child continues to develop fine and gross motor skills, we provide engaging, hands-on experiences to strengthen hand muscles, improve coordination, and prepare them for writing. As they grow, children are introduced to pre-writing activities, early literacy, creative art experiences— all with a goal to foster independence and confidence.

Through a balance of purposeful play and intention teacher-guided instruction, children also develop foundation skills in math, science, language, and critical thinking. Our developmentally appropriate curriculum encourages and supports each child's intellectual, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual growth.

One of the most important areas of growth during the three-year-old year is learning to be part of a classroom community. Through cooperative play, group projects, circle time, and guided social interactions, children learn to share, communicate, resolve conflicts, show kindness, and build meaningful friendships. These experiences help develop self-regulation, empathy, confidence, and independence.

Pre-K

Our Pre-K program is intentionally designed to prepare children for a successful transition to kindergarten by building confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning. Through a balance of purposeful play, hands-on exploration, and focused teacher-guided instruction, children develop the academic, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual skills needed for kindergarten and beyond.

Sunrise Preschool meets each Pre-K child right where they are, intentionally guiding and encouraging their growth in every area of development. Through engaging experiences, children build confidence and develop socially, emotionally, cognitively, physically, spiritually, and academically as they prepare for kindergarten and beyond.

Engaging learning centers and age-appropriate activities foster early literacy, math, science, problem-solving, and critical thinking while encouraging creativity and curiosity. Children are challenged to ask questions, explore new ideas, and become confident, independent learners.

Advanced Pre-K

Our Advanced Pre-K (TK) program is designed for children who miss the kindergarten age cutoff or who are developmentally ready for a more challenging learning experience. This engaging, accelerated program builds upon the strong foundation established in our preschool years while preparing children for success in kindergarten and beyond.

The TK curriculum moves at a faster pace and encourages a higher level of independence, responsibility, and critical thinking. Children are challenged through hands-on, developmentally appropriate learning experiences that strengthen early literacy, phonics, writing, mathematics, science, and problem-solving skills. They are encouraged to ask questions, think creatively, collaborate with others, and confidently tackle new challenges.

As our oldest students, the TK Tigers serve as positive role models within our preschool community. They continue to develop leadership skills, self-confidence, perseverance, and responsibility while learning to work both independently and cooperatively.

Facility & Safety

Sunrise Preschool is a ministry of First Church of the Nazarene of Pasadena (PazNaz). Our Christian faith is at the heart of everything we do, shaping the way we teach, care for, and encourage each child. Throughout the day, children experience God's love through prayer, age-appropriate Bible stories, songs, and lessons that emphasize kindness, compassion, respect, and integrity.

We are located in a modern building that is fully air-conditioned. Additionally, most of our classrooms have large windows to allow for plenty of natural light. Children play and learn in clean, spacious classroom environments that are well-appointed with high quality furniture, art supplies and desirable toys. Each classroom is also equipped with child size bathrooms.

Your child’s well-being and safety are very important to us. Our building is secured with electronic security doors and monitored with security cameras and direct supervision, for the safety of our children. There is ample campus parking available to parents.

We believe children should have a large outside area to play on, to run, jump, and enjoy the outdoors. Sunrise Preschool’s playground includes a rubberized surface and a grassy area. A large trike track, swings, sand box, and climbing structure, allow children to have a variety of activities to choose from. Beautiful trees and shade sails protect children from the sun, and water misters sprinkle them with mist on warm days. Cool water is always readily available for drinking.
