Dear Sunrise Families,
Thank you for your patience as we have been working diligently to provide you with materials to assist you with caring for your child at home. We sincerely apologize to those of you who have sent emails that we have not been able to answer. We have been trying to keep up with all the questions and concerns, but as this situation evolves and changes daily and hourly on different levels, local, state, and federal, we have fallen short. We apologize and will try to do better.
It is so hard to believe that this is only the second week that Sunrise Preschool has been closed. We miss you all and cannot wait until we are able to be together again. Because of the governmental restrictions, local, state and federal, we will not be opening in April. We are HOPEFUL that we will all be back in class together May.
On Wednesday April 1st we will roll out a new and expanded resource for your child. This will come via Google Classroom beginning Wednesday, April 1st and every school day that we are closed, according to your child’ s schedule. Please make sure you have a Gmail account to access Google Classroom – it’s easy and free. Some of you may notice that we are doing something new in some classes, Teachers Helping Teachers. Please do not worry – no one is sick, our staff are all healthy, PTL! We have some teachers who are not able to come out to school for videotaping, so, teachers are helping teachers! For those parents who are not able to print out the curriculum packets, we will have physical packets in the school lobby on Mondays and Tuesdays, 9:00am to 1:00pm for pick-up. These packets will contain age appropriate curriculum resources prepared by the teachers for a two week period.
We hope you are all well, staying safe and enjoying your time together.

A Wonderful Place to Grow
Sunrise Preschool is a delightful preschool and extended-day childcare facility, offering a variety of preschool and daycare services for boys and girls ages 2 to 5 years old.
Our Vision & Mission:
A vision tells us where we are going, and a mission tells us how we will get there. Our founding preschool director’s vision for Sunrise Preschool was and still is “To develop the total character of each child by providing a preschool experience of lasting value.” (Margo Pehlivanos, 1990-2015, 2019)
Our Mission today is “Building solid developmental foundations for future success in physical agility, academic achievements, loving relationships, and service to God.” (Heidi Morgan, Preschool Director, 2019 – present)
Our Teachers & Curriculum:
Our experienced and qualified teachers focus on developmentally appropriate academic activities and lessons, as children participate in music, art, indoor discovery centers, outdoor play, cooking, gardening, phonics, number skills, and beginning writing. Spiritual formation occurs within the loving, nurturing relationships of teachers and friends, and through Bible stories and lessons intentionally taught to develop good, Christian morals and values. Children learn they are loved by the God who created them and they learn to talk to God in prayer.
Our Location & Facility:
Sunrise Preschool is located in a modern building that is fully air-conditioned, and has large windows with plenty of natural light. Children play and learn in clean, spacious classroom environments that are well-appointed with high quality furniture, art supplies and desirable toys. Each classroom is also equipped with child size bathrooms, and parent observation windows.
Your child’s well-being and safety is very important to us. Our building is secured with electronic security doors and monitored with security cameras and direct supervision, for the safety of our children. There is ample campus parking and parents are invited to visit the preschool throughout the day.
We believe children should have a large playground to play on, to run, jump, and enjoy the outdoors. Sunrise Preschool’s playground includes a rubberized surface and a grassy area. A large trike track, swings, sand box, and climbing structure, allow children to have a variety of activities to choose from. Beautiful trees and shade sails protect children from the sun, and water misters sprinkle them with mist on warm days. Cool water is always readily available for drinking.
